Microstage — Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
Last updated: 6 June 2026 Effective date: 6 June 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy governs use of the Microstage Service and is part of the Terms of Service. By using the Service you agree to it on behalf of yourself and your Authorized Users.
1. You must not
- Capture or message people unlawfully. Collect Visitor data without a valid legal basis and a clear privacy notice, or send follow-up or marketing messages without the consent or other lawful basis required by applicable law (in particular GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive).
- Capture data from minors. Knowingly capture Visitor email addresses or other personal data from anyone under 16 years old (the age set by Article 5 of the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act for information-society services), unless you have verifiable consent from the holder of parental responsibility. Microstage is designed for adult B2B trade-show audiences and is not built for child-directed events; if you intend to use it at an event whose audience materially includes minors, you must (i) deploy age-gating before email capture, (ii) document the parental-consent mechanism, and (iii) tell us in advance.
- Broadcast audio unlawfully. Broadcast or transmit audio of any person through the Service without the notices, permissions, or authority required where you operate.
- Send prohibited content. Transmit content that is illegal, infringing, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or that promotes violence or illegal activity. Specifically not allowed: child sexual abuse material; content prohibited by Articles 3–7 of Directive 2011/93/EU; terrorist content covered by Regulation (EU) 2021/784.
- Target political, religious, or special-category audiences without disclosure. Do not use the Service for political advertising in the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2024/900 without complying with that Regulation's transparency and targeting rules, and do not use Visitor data to infer special categories (Article 9 GDPR) without an explicit Article 9 lawful basis.
- Infringe rights. Use Customer Content or branding you do not have the rights to, or impersonate any person or organisation.
- Abuse the platform. Send spam, malware, or phishing; harvest data; misrepresent who is pitching; or use the Service for unsolicited bulk messaging.
- Attack the Service. Probe, scan, or breach security; bypass limits or authentication; interfere with availability; or access another customer's data.
- Misuse capacity. Exceed plan limits other than as the Service permits, or resell or provide the Service to third parties without authorisation.
- Reverse engineer the Service except where that restriction is prohibited by law.
- Misuse AI output. Pass off AI-generated translations or captions as a verbatim or certified record of what was said, or use the Service to deploy AI in any high-risk use case under Annex III of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (AI Act) without our prior written agreement.
2. Responsibility
You are responsible for all activity under your account and for your Authorized Users and Presenters. You must ensure they comply with this AUP.
3. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may remove content, throttle, suspend, or terminate access — in whole or in part, with or without prior notice where risk requires — without liability and without refund. We may report unlawful activity to authorities and preserve and disclose information where required by law or to protect the Service, our users, or third parties.
4. Reporting
Report suspected abuse to legal@microstage.io.
